A week full of active contributions to the EZBET project continues! Two fruitful international discussions and exchanges with other representatives from Stuttgart's twin cities: Mumbai, Strasbourg, St. Helens, Cardiff and others took place on Monday, June 19 and Tuesday, June 20 at the City Hall on Stuttgart's Marktplatz.
Today, Wednesday, June 21, 2023, a new contribution in a different format and context "UFC23" will take place now! Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manal El-Shahat will give a talk in the track "Decarbonizing the Built Environment" Session 4.4."Cut emissions, not buildings" She will present the street intervention book "Streets as a social Space" by highlighting the environmental aspects in the process of redeveloping and improving the quality of urban spaces through space-making techniques and methodologies.
Low-cost, low-cost tech, reuse and recycling of local urban resources are the focus of this talk. Reducing the causes of higher CO2 emissions, such as material transport to and from the site, will be discussed. Involving local residents and sharing knowledge and experiences with all generations and gender groups will also be explained. Finally, the talk will highlight the mutual learning aspect with local communities (the actual users) and how they play an important role as urban change agents and space makers.
The Urban Future Conference is the premier conference for experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and leaders who make cities sustainable.
